While the focus may seem to be just on 8-12yr olds, Matthews Mavericks hopes to offer playing opportunities to your child for as long as they continue play the game. We are BIG believers in fostering a life-long passion for the sport (many of our coaches still play at competitive levels), and we currently have 2 mens’ teams (Open and Over 40), playing in the Charlotte Premier Soccer League (www.cpslsoccer.com), as well as a Coed Adult tournament team. The rosters are made up of numerous former pro / semi-pro / collegiate level players with youngest being 17, and the oldest 55 between the teams.
Recent accomplishments include:
– Current (2x) Mens Charlotte Premier Soccer League Open Division Champions (11v11) – May 2019 & May 2020
– Current Mens Over 30 Division State Champions NC/SC (8v8) – May 2019 (2020 postponed due to COVID)
– Current (2x) Mens Over 30 Division State Champions NC/SC (11v11) – December 2019 & December 2020
